Student Discipline
HCL has been collectively involved in over 100 student discipline cases, ranging from minor disciplinary issues to long term suspensions and expulsions (Massachusetts). We have appeared before state agencies and courts when litigating these cases. We have drafted multiple student discipline handbooks and policies for clients and are also well versed in the areas of IDEA and Section 504 and their complex interplay in student discipline.
HCL has significant experience handling employee disciplinary matters in all forums, including before administrative bodies, arbitrators and in state and federal courts. We are well versed in progressive discipline and just cause cases, having litigated many of them. We are also well experienced in discrimination laws which often times come into play in these situations.
