Truancy

In Rhode Island, we assist school department clients in executing mandatory attendance laws, R.I.G.L. § 16-19-1, et. al. HCL has assisted many of our school departments in drafting policies regarding truancy and truant students.  We also work closely with our clients throughout the truancy process; advising them on filing wayward petitions against habitual truant students and their parents. The lawyers of Henneous Carroll and Lombardo attend and represent school departments in Family Court in all districts on these petitions.
